An Affair to Remember DJ and Entertainment is unique in the service and packages that we provide in Hampton Roads.  We believe that we offer the most refined DJ and MC performance, yet offer our services at prices at or below most of the competition.  We are able to do this because we do not subcontract out any of our DJ work, but provide all services ourselves.

All packages include Paula as your DJ, Master of Ceremonies, and Reception Coordinator on the day of your event.  Larger events that are at multiple locations requiring multiple sound systems, or customers who purchase our Platinum Package will have both Peter and Paula on the day of your event*. Events that do not have someone experienced in keeping the reception flowing can often get so out of control and off schedule that they end up being virtually ruined.  Paula will masterfully coordinate all the details of your reception from the grand entrance to the last dance and see to it that it all flows smoothly and runs flawlessly.  She works closely with the facility, the catering staff, your photographer, your bridal party, and most importantly with you, the Bride and Groom or guest of honor.  Paula is an expert at keeping your special day special no matter what unforeseen circumstances may come up!

As Master of Ceremonies, Paula is so much more than a voice announcing the next event that will be happening.  She is a moving speaker as well as a superior crowd motivator with a professional but personal delivery.  You can count on her to masterfully host your event while never being cheesy or inappropriate.  Paula is also a world class dancer and will (if you so choose) lead your party in fun but tasteful interactive dances that really can get your entire guest list having the time of their lives.  Paula will stylistically coordinate her expertise in DJ’ing and MC’ing to masterfully time each transition for maximum effect.

All of our packages also include an in person consultation at least two weeks prior to your event as well as the set up and use of our state of the art PA system and dance lighting.  During your consultation, we will discuss a profile of the Bride and Groom and tastefully put together a romantic and moving love story introduction.   In order to give you superior and convenient customer service, we utilize a complete online event planning system.  This makes it easy for you to make any changes necessary from the order of events to what songs will be played until two week before your event.

Because our goal is to provide you with the reception of your dreams, we typically put about 15 to 30 hours of work into each event.  From both phone and in-person consultations, to writing and revising event time flow, to the scripting out of what will be said, to purchasing music, creating and organizing play lists, contacting and working with the facility, checking, loading and setting up equipment, performing, and finally tearing down gear.  We believe that this level of commitment to our clients and their event is necessary in order to ensure that your special day is truly An Affair to Remember.
